Kevlar Rope 5mm (3/16 inch approx)

Renegade started to make Kevlar Wick in the early 1980's to replace asbestos wicks, used to make juggling torches. The rope wicking  is made from 100% Kevlar, no fiberglass blending.

The compostion of the core of the rope make a big differance in how much fuel it can retain. This 18mm rope has a liner theaded core, which holds more fuel than the braided or twisted core. Renegade Kevlar Rope Wicking can be used to make fire darts, fire meteor, fire snakes, fire swords, fire fans, fire wanes and many other fire prop or installations. One of the most common uses for fire rope is to make a monkey fist knot that is used as a fire poi head.

Size and length of rope to make your monkey fist

• monkey fist size 2 1/2 inch: rope size 3/8 inch, rope length 5 feet
• monkey fist size 3 1/2 inch: rope size 3/8 inch, rope length 7 1/2 feet
• monkey fist size 3 inch: rope size 1/2, rope length 6 1/2 feet
• monkey fist size 4 inch: rope size 5/8, rope length 7 1/2 feet
