The thai staff is made from a 7075 anodized aluminum tube 3/4 inch (19.5mm). The center of the staff covered with silicone tubing (fuel and fire resistant) that give the staff very good feel and grip.
The silicone disk guard is to protect your hands from flames creeping up the staff. You need to keep spinning at least slowly. It is important you do not hold the staff in a static vertical position (especially at the beginning of your show) when the flame is large. Do not use white gas or stove gas, use barbaque lighter flulid.
